Winter Diary 2006/7

Following The Fairfax Chelsea Show I've decided to move on my Glazing technique. The colour painting are now essentially built up over three stages.

Stage 1:
tech1
The Drawing. Ivory Black with Turpentine.
Stage 2:
tech2
Palette Knife painting - heavy texture and strong tones, and
Stage 3:
tech3
Soft Glazes: several (3 to 7) layers of transparent lightly tinted paint. Softening tones adding depth and body.
I've do not know of anyone else doing this! Needless to say the following photos do not do the finished paintings justice - but here they are anyway...
