Pool Series
In 2021 Kathryn chaperoned her young son to Canada where he was filming a big Disney film. As well as, spending time on set Kathryn was inspired to create her Vancouver and Pool Collections.
She fell in love with the vast landscapes, snow-capped mountains and the slow moving container ships in English Bay. This pool painting collection hopes to capture the cool fresh, air of swimming in the sun with the snowy mountain peaks beyond as well as a sense of calm and freedom.
Kathryn has always been known for her colourful palette and varied mark making.
Kathryn Matthews studied Visual Art at the De Montfort University in Leicester (1990-93). She has exhibited widely throughout the UK and internationally with shows in New York, Massachusetts, Dubai and Paris. Her work has been published in Canada, USA and the Uk.
