A fresh interpretation of Hove Seafront, taking in the view looking westwards along Hove Lawns from the abstracted beach huts to the regency splendour of the pronensdes architecture.
The lightness of touch gives a sense of freedom and hints of Summer. The detail of the buildings in Kathryn's unique style sits grounded on a more loosely painted background giving the scene room to breathe and lets your eye journey along the beach until you reach The Palace Pier and beyond.
Kathryn has always been known for her colourful palette and varied mark making.
Kathryn Matthews studied Visual Art at the De Montfort University in Leicester (1990-93). She has exhibited widely throughout the UK and internationally with shows in New York, Massachusetts, Dubai and Paris. Her work has been published in Canada, USA and the Uk.
