Oil On Linen
A flotilla of fishing boats, stacked seaside cottages and a decadent afternoon tea are depicted in a palette of powder blue, pastel pink, chalk white and crimson red. In this work the familiar depiction of a coastal scene is integrated with the artist’s recent studies of still lifes, resulting in an elaborate and lavish composition.
All paintings are framed in a wooden tray frame and hand-painted in Farrow & Ball’s ‘All White’ by the Ingo Fincke gallery, Battersea. Please allow approx 10cm each side to the 90x90cm canvas size.
Katty McMurray studied at the Chelsea School of Art (1988-91) exhibiting widely throughout throughout the UK and the London art fairs - accumulating an extensive list of collectors. Her work draws on her extensive travels, with a more recent focus on the British coast. Clean lines, solid brightly coloured shapes and a meticulously balanced palette are a hallmark of Katty’s serene and restorative oil on linens and line drawings.
