Thinking of Howard Hodgkin

Giclee Print

The Hustle and Bustle of Brighton Beach is set ablaze with a riot of colour, candy stripes and accents of neon pink in this dynamic oil on board. In the distance, the sloping South Down’s fade out into the horizon, whilst the ethereal and skeletal outline of the West Pier appears to fade into the backdrop of the rich aqua sea.

Each giclee print is produced under licence from the Fine Arts Guild using archival quality 320 gsm Hahnemuhle paper and archival lightfast inks. All giclees have the artist’s distinct watermark, are hand signed and released as an edition of 50. The image size is approx 90cm x 90cm. All prints are unframed.

Kathryn Matthews studied Visual Art at the De Montfort University in Leicester (1990-93). She has exhibited widely throughout the UK and internationally with shows in New York, Dubai and Paris. Her paintings have a luminous and often ethereal quality that is achieved through vibrant colour, a variety of mark making techniques and multiple layering and glazings.
